David Laport (1986) graduated as a fashion designer in 2012 from the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague. With his graduation collection of wind-blown-up silhouettes he received a lot of media coverage because of the concept he showed. Laport is a womenswear designer who sees a challenge in experimental female silhouettes in sculptural light forms. In January 2014 he presented his first collection on the Amsterdam Mercedes Benz FashionWeek supported by the Stimuleringsfonds - Creatieve Industrie. With this collection Decay Elite he presented a fresh modern collection and used real flowers in the garments. He found his inspiration for this collection in the different stadia of flowers; from bud to bloom, and even into decay.
