On September 15, 1975, Kees Gehring booked his first order for South Ocean Knitters Ltd. from Hong Kong. During the summer of that year Gehring came to an agreement with mr. K.P.Chao, chairman of Novel Enterprises Ltd. Hong Kong, about his nomination to become sales agent for South Ocean Knitters Group of Companies for the Dutch and Belgian market and together they founded Bonnit Benelux B.V. South Ocean Knitters Ltd. is a member of Novel Enterprises Ltd., incorporated in Hong Kong in 1964. South Ocean Knitters, set up in 1975, is the flag-ship of the Novel Group in knitwear production and marketing. The organisation of South Ocean has a vertical set up from spinning (www.novetex.com) deying, knitting, finishing, quality control to sales. All stages of the production process are under control of staff from the Hong Kong head office, to guarantee that all products can meet the highest quality standards and enable to meet the right price-quality comparison.
