Laura studied Fashion Design at Liverpool John Moores University and graduated in 2007. Laura was then employed by luxury British Fashion Brands, working as a Design Assistant then Visual Merchandiser. Since the beginning of 2012 Laura took steps to form her own label and create a collection of clothes for women under the Brand LAURASMITH. Laura is originally from Nottingham, England. Currently living in the Netherlands to design and make her next collection. “I am enjoying the new experience of living in the Netherlands and being inspired by the different culture and the journeys I take. I believe making a step away from the usual surroundings helps you to look at the world differently and see new opportunities. I’m sure the European style will have an influence on my collection, but I will still be focusing on British design, fabrics and production, its something that is important to me.” A key feature in Laura's collections is the use of Lace from her hometown of Nottingham. Laura will to continue to support this local trade, using the lace as a beautiful detail on both the inside and outside of her garments. The lace gives an understated feminine touch to each piece and underlines Laura's trade mark of simplicity with exquisite detail and finish. LAURASMITH combines the traditional elements of British fashion with the laid back european sense of style. A wardrobe is created for us that reflects confidence and adventure, with a relaxed approach to luxury in each piece.
