NŌN by KIM redefines the male wardrobe from a conceptual, refined and modern perspective. Founded in 2007, the Dutch designer Kim Bakker mutates the archetypes of men's garments to push and explore the boundaries of menswear. NŌN by KIM represents a world on it's own, translated to menswear. The designs are constructed from a combination of Bakker's fascinations. Fuelled by a love of abstraction, the everyday beauty that lies hidden in details, the listening to structured chaotic sounds and the viewing of slowly unfolding stories, the designer starts to analyse patterns and menswear pieces. She then goes after the boundaries of men's fashion, mutates and deconstructs its foundations, and reinterprets the accepted shapes. Mutated into garments, the parts together form a new layered silhouette which is defined by fine body conscious materials, considerate details, perfect finishes and a moderate use of colors. These ingredients form a collection which is captivating on many different levels and will not cease to inspire. Every novel collection assembles with the previous one: they all are part of an ongoing process. The style is highly consistent, and will therefore never age. This makes the designs very sustainable.
