In 1905, Herman Jansen began making and selling football boots in Hengelo (Gelderland). The boots were assembled in the attic room of his home. The whole family helped out to cut the patterns, glue and stitch. In the same year the founder opened his first shop in Hengelo. Six pairs of boots in the shop window set among no fewer than 150 empty boxes.
