Corné Gabriëls’ designs from the classical masculine dress code and often pervade nostalgic poetry or a “tongue in cheek” like sense of humor. The concepts of wearability, timelessness and minimalism are the founding grounds of Corné’s creative dialogue and results in handcrafted pieces that are simply unique in character. He works and resides in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. After graduating from Rietveld Academy of Arts, he attended the Artez masters at Fashion Institute Arnhem.His work has been featured at venues such as, Stedelijk Museum, De Appel, Dutch Touch Paris, Amsterdam International Fashion Week, Prelude by the Dutch Fashion Foundation. Corné Gabriëls has been a finalist for awards such as Prix de Rome and Festival des Arts de la Mode Hyères and his work was featured in international magazines and newspapers like L'uomo Vogue and New York Times. He works on various projects and conducts design workshops at IED Rome and Florence. He also designed costumes for the leading Dutch dance company “Introdans” and a film costume for French cinema icon Jeanne Moreau.
